Episode V: A Stirring Menace

Part 1 – Whiteout

The mercenary group received a message from a contact calling himself ‘Mr Dark’ offering 60,000 credits for a job. The job involved delivering an unknown package to a Science facility on Hoth; Mr Dark added that he lost contact with the facility over a month ago, so requires the team to take his DATA slicer with them.

During the flight to pick up the package and the slicer one of the crew got a call from an old friend with a few jobs he wanted done at the facility, one was planting a few experimental bombs and the other was stealing the Bio suit named the Black Scorpion. He also wanted the facility head dead.

As the mercenaries ship entered the Hoth system it was hit by a weird energy that made all the mercenaries but Zao really sleepy and the engines go as fast as they could. Tarrin investigated why the engines wouldn’t slow down to find the system was locked on full throttle. Quickly grabbing her tools she fixed the issue just before the effects of the energy knocked her out cold. Zao quickly grabbed the ship captain Azi and started to examine her looking for what caused the incident. Strangely the captains brain function had almost completely stopped, acting quickly so not to lose the captain he whipped up a stimulant that countered the Energy wave. Upon entering the Cock pit he noticed that Hoth was getting very close and pulled the Steering column up, so the ship didn’t crash. Then woke the pilot and co-pilot, knowing the ship would need it’s mechanic he woke Tarrin. Leaving the two new members of the mercenary group taken on by Azi till last. The crew started to wake having nice colourful hallucinations, and feeling a little worse for wear.

After recovering Tarrin looked further into why the Engines wouldn’t cut out and found that the energy pulse had a message, ‘all that sleep awaken now’ and this seems to have stopped the engines cooling down like they should have. Tarrin showed Zao the message and they both agreed that it was incredibly unhelpful. During this time Azi ordered his flight crew to land on Hoth, the ship entered the atmosphere with no problems but once within the atmosphere the flight crew were flying blind due to a planet wide snow storm. The planets temperature was a lovely -55 degrees Celceus and as they landed the engines whined with the temperature changes. The Sith where in their quarters and tried to reach out and assess the situation. As they did something jumped on their force wavelengths and started to play with their minds. Razul the inquisitor, had an annoying child singing to him in his head. Kadrin had a voice telling him that the ship was too noisy and he should end the crews lives and then he would be able to enjoy the silence. Kadrin managed to fight the voice off and Razul wasn’t enjoying the Singing. Azi entered his quarters to find him grimacing in discomfort and he wanted to silence the singing but was unsure how to. Azi retrieved Kadrin from his room, he seemed very quiet when Azi, Razul and Kardrin rejoined the group. Razul stated that they weren’t alone on this planet. The mercenaries deliberated as to what they would do next leave the engines running and only have an hour and a half before the fuel reached dangerous levels or switch them off and risk having to take three quarters of an hour defrosting the engines by hand. After a while they decided to power the engines down and reheat them later. Upon leaving the ship the mercenaries stayed close as the visibility was very low. Starting towards the science facility they heard a noise Azi, Zao and Tarrin ran towards the facility the two sith continued slowly till they heard 2 lightsabers ignite. Turning just in time the creatures missed their targets by a hair, all the sith could see was a desiccated arm the fleash was bearly hanging onto the bone the lightsaber was blood red and a robed arm with a second red lightsaber. Razul ued the force to strike both, then Kadrin opened up with force lightning three times causing one of the sith to convulse. It dropped to the snow melting a small area and forming a puddle that then froze over. Razul sliced one Sith across his chest knocking him back into the snow motionless. Kadrin felt weird as his physical form collapsed to the floor, his force form appeared within a room with no doors or windows. It looked like an elegant manor house, all that was in the room was a table, sitting on this was a 3 foot demon that told him “the one you seek is behind that wall”. Kadrin ignored him the first time, the demon then said “Davin is behind that wall” at which point Kadrin attempted to grab the demon but failed allowing him to vanish and reappear behind him. The demon angrily said “that wasn’t nice I told you, Davin is behind that wall” at which point Kadrin used the force to Propel the Table though the wall causing his force form back into his physical body damaging his link to the force. During this time Azi, Zao and Tarrin reached the Hanger Door for the Science facility to find it frozen closed. Frozen guard droids were around the doorway and saw that a layer of ice had formed around the doors keypad. Zao ripped the ice layer off and Tarrin tried to hack the console. The data Slicer pushed her aside and opened the door with relative ease. The large door slowly hunkered open and was helped along by Tarrin. Entering the hanger Azi, Zao and Tarrin saw a frozen hanger the Droids on patrol were frozen mid stride. The Droid Space fighters were frozen to their Release Racks on the roof of the hanger. There were also two dead scientists near the entrance to the main facility, from the hanger Zao inspected them and found that the wounds they had suffers came from a finger bone. The door into the main facility was broken outwards, one was still on its hinges. Tarrin placed her hand on the door and got a short sharp pain a expermentail creature had bitten her with almost immediately effect she started feeling ill. Zao impaled the experiment and placed it into a sample tube for later testing. After a quick examination of Tarrin by Zao he concluded that this creature had infected Tarrin with a Virus that binds itself to the central nervous system and causes the infected to slowly get weaker and weaker till they eventually can’t even Breath or move and end up dying due to lack of signals from the brain getting anywhere else. Tarrin asked Zao “if I start to turn into anything alien end it for me please” Zao nodded yes. The two sith caught up with the group as the DATA slicer stated they need to get the power back up. Azi said “lead the way” to the nervous Slicer, after some convincing he lead then down a stair case passed four labs and to a set of lifts where he told them with no power were going to have to climb down. All the mercenaries but Azi made it down without issue, one of Azi’s hands slipped on a red substance coating the ladder.

When the mercenaries arrived on the 3rd floor they saw the power plant and noticed that the main reactor had a square shaped hole which might be the reason there was no power. The back-up generator was undamaged and all that was needed was for someone to turn the generator back on. Once the generator activated the mercenaries could see the roof was covered with undead humans seemingly frozen to the roof. With the back-up generator now online and heating the room up the mercenaries decided to move quick. As Azi was about to give the order she noticed that Tarrin and the Slicer where missing. They had run on ahead to get the Data, Tarrin discovered the logs for the Head scientist and the New head scientist accessible by the slicer from the Hangers computer systems. She also discovered that there was a cure for the virus that she was infected with. There were a number of experiments on the go and one was a genetic experiment to combine the best fighters, warriors, thinkers, scoundrels and some of the darkest Sith lords though-out out time. There was a list of ten names that where labelled leaders of the master race Szayel Grantz was amongst the names. Azi Called Tarrin over the coms to find he was on the upper level. While leaving the reactor room Kadrin felt something grab his leg, with one swift move he sliced the Creature into two parts. Zao had Kardin put the parts in a bag it was similar to the one that had bitten Tarrin but this one didn’t seem to have a mouth to bit with unlike the other. Upon regrouping with Tarrin the mercenaries noticed a Squad of Snow troopers not used since the Rebellion Era. Slowly and sluggishly the Troopers raised their weapons and fired missing every shot. Zao, Tarrin and Azi decided to fight the troopers. The Sith’s stepped back to the wall and watched the fight, the Snow troopers missing every shot and were getting hit with Razor bugs. While the mercenaries were distracted by the snow troopers they failed to notice the Mandalorian squad sneaking up from behind. The Mandalorians spotted Razul and Kadrin first and opened fire. The Mandalorians being more highly trained than the snow troopers hit their targets. Razul adsorbed the energy bolt whereas Kadrin got hit with one of the bolts. Kadrin rushed the Mandalorian Commander striking his armour and knocking him back a step. Razul used the force to propel a droid at one of the Mandalorian troopers. Azi, Zao and Tarrin finished the Snow troopers off turned around to see the Sith fighting the Mandalorians. With one collapsed on the floor and three more fighting, the Commander saw one more of his men fall and reached behind his back. He activated a thermal detonator dropping it and got ready to fight again. Razul grabbed the thermal detonator from the ground and propelled it out the door and knocked a Passing one armed Wampa out shortly befoe turning it into Wampa Pâté. Azi and Tarrin opened fire on the remaining Mandaloorians knocking there bodies to the group, Razul suddenly collapsed.

(Director’s notes Tarrin was unfortunately not at the game so will be assumed to have been sneaking around with the group but will not be taking place in the game even though her infection is slowly spreading)

Razul found himself in a elegant ball room not windows no doors all that was in the room was a piano being played by a demon, he was playing the moonlight serenade, after a long silence the demon said “you’re a silent one aren’t you” Razul just stood there as the demon continued to Play “I can help you, find what you’re looking for” Razul finally skeptically spoke “So what am I looking for then”. The demon replied the one that wronged you, the one that Left your group, the one that angered you, like that’s really hard you Sith are always angry, you kill friends, mentors and even family just to get ahead and then wonder why you come visit me on death. But any way i have a deal for you I’ll tell you what you want to know for the small price of your soul.” Razul looked in a mixture of hatred and bemusement at this little creature silly offer. Razul asked the demon “if I come to you, in the end why do you want my soul, the eager replied was “so we can torture you longer...” it paused relised what it said and swiftly changed the words “I mean let you enjoy are hospitality longer” Razul was a very unimpressed with the demons words “who are you he asked” with a smile the demon replied “I go by many names Satan, Beelzebub, Lucifer, the Leviathan, Baphomet or Jeff” Razul Smiled “Ok, Jeff is it, no deal, now how do I get out of here” the demon was angry at that response and said “the only way out is thought the walls” the anger must have made his lies transparent as Razul let loose a Bolt of force lightning that firing the demons neural cortex and sending his force essence hurdling back into his body. While he was recovering a ship landed outside the hanger everyone but the slicer Moved into the shadows so they can hide their presents. The ships doors opened revealing five brutish bodyguards that looked straight at the slice and asked “why are you talking so long, the boss wants results fast” the others stepped from the shadows and the bodyguards continued “as for you your suppose to be looking after him” the guards walked into the hangers with a creature attached to their backs setting off the stations Bio contamination escape alarms the doors instantly closed and a Teryion barrier to stop lightsabers and cutting lasers opening the seals the guards got a short sharp sting as the creature tried to take over there brain functions the mercenaries heard the alarms and saw the Droid fighters raising into the ceiling, they all ran for the inner door before in closed Zao grabbed the slicer on Dragged him out the room just as the inner door closed and a cleaner orb descended and bathed the area in purifying black fire doing quite a job on the hanger and leaving no trace of life anywhere within the hanger. The mercenaries heard the flames dying down followed by a sound of groaning followed by the heavy footsteps as an extremely fat giant of a zombie walked into the hallway he completely blocked their way to the lifts Azi fired her blaster which was absorbed into the zombie’s fat leaving only the fool smell of cooking rotten flesh to the already terrible smell of rotten flesh and excrement coming from the blob like zombie Zao threw a Explosive bug that took a large chuck from the Zombie, Kadrin charged forward and slashed the zombie causing the fat to sizzle but doing very little damage compared to the bug bomb. The zombie Replied with a Angry flurry of attacks using it’s skinless fingers ripping a huge chunk of Kadrin’s arm, the second strike left a nasty claw mark across the sith’s once untouched face the attack left Kadrin feeling really ill, Razul saw his friend in trouble and Sprung into combat swinging his lightsaber that just sliced the zombies fat belly off making the smell almost unmanageable, Zao tried throwing a razor bug but it missed and scuttered back into his hand, Kadrin attempted to strike the zombie and did nothing to the zombie his blade hit the hanging blubber the Zombie in rage slashed its skinless fingers ripping as him sword arm doing minimum damage but causing him to feel very ill, Azi opened Fire on the Auto fire setting the bolts hit every organ and the beast fell backwards the group itself rumbled as it hit the floor. Suddenly Azi received a communication from the pilot “errr boss that package we took aboard it’s awake and it’s killed the guards now it’s coming are way” the com line went dead, Azi instantly turned to the data slicer and demanded to know what was in the container only giving the minimum amount of information he said “a genetic sample, it’s a coffin” Azi turned the Kadrin and ask him to cut them from out so he could save his crew but when the siths saber touched the door it deactivated, turning to the slicer he asked forcefully with Zao unhooding to reveal the fact he was a Yuuzhan Vong “how do I cancel the alarms are get to my ship” the slicer in fear for his life Said “security its below the reactors but above the lab’s” Zao grabbed the slicer by the throat and took him to the elevator the rest of the mercenaries followed, as the elevator descended the group saw a claw come out from under a Doorway trying to scratch the door open.

They arrived at the level below the reactors to find a open plan living area with 3 doors one leading to a Managing Director’s quarters one leading to security and one leading to a workshop, Zao but the slicer down and demanded him to open the security door, he wet himself with fear and ran to the door sliced the door just to be meet by a security guard with half its scalp missing, the slicer dropped to the floor in a ball shacking back and forth it seems he had reached the point of no return his mind snapped, with speed Azi Drew her shock whip and knocked the zombie guard to his knee’s Kadrin sliced the head off, as he did this he heard a loud moan of anger, Razul and Kadrin entered the office and saw a blurr they backed to the wall and said “clear Kind of” Azi stayed outside shouted in “can you see within smoke” Razul Replied “yes” almost as soon as he said yes Azi poped in the door and threw a unpinned smoke genade, Kadrin placed a movement sence on and Razul used his eyes, Kadrin saw nothing where as Razul Saw a figure move pull it’s sword and run up and into a vent system. Zao tried to get the slice to go into the control room but he was too scared to move, Zao used his claws to Paint the walls with the slicers brains, Kadin and Razul tell him off as they needed the slicer. Azi grabbed the Data pad and started to read seeing all the data he saw before with one addition a list of 10 names and planets they can be found on the names where Grantz , Arruruerie, Leroux, Jaegerjaquez, Jiruga, Cifer,Tia, Shark, Luisenbarn.

While looking at the data source there was a Angry moan followed by a smash the wall of then the wall gave in to reveal the insane nemisis creature, it saw the Vong and charged knocking him down Azi Dragged him into the security office and Closed the door seconds later the creature slammed itself into the wall morphing the wall inwards the sith ran for the elevators and pushed the down button the elevator Creaked as it moved the nemesis turned and say the head of Kadrin it ignored the vong and ran for the lift jumping onto the lifts top bending it inwards, the sith hatched a Plan slicing the floor of the lift so the creature will fall through With one more might Slam the lift top crashed open and the creature Fell straight to the Bottom of the shaft and the repulse lift started to follow swiftly after. The sith jumped out before it hit the floor and where confronted by a ice cave with a large Black obelisk within a cave with a black organic looking wall, they noticed the walls moving and decided to run when they turned standing there was the nemesis really pissed after having a free fall followed by a lift being dropped on him, Kadrin pulled deep and Propelled the creature backwards into the side of the lift shaft leaving a Nemesis Shaped whole in the side of the lift shaft and causing the shaft to start to fall apart the sith jump up on level.

At the same time Azi and Zao found themselves suck in the security room trying to decide what to do, suddenly they here scuttering in the vent system the left vent guard fell off to reveal a young girl that started by saying “You ok there, I can get you out of here” as she did that Zao said “why should we trust you” her smart ass responce was “I’m not trying to bite you my skins not discoloured and I don’t have claws or teeth” Azi stunned her then asked the dazed girl “who are you” she took some time to respond but said “why dude I was trying to help you” Azi repeated the question she answered “I’m the Ex-head scientists daughter, the only one left on this planet my sister went off world” she then went on to say that her father was killed by a galactic alliance strike team. After that Azi decided to trust Little Diana, she lead them into their old sleeping quarters from the vents and said the only way to open the lock down was to get to Grantz lab which meant going down to the normal labs finding his office and then using his private lift to get to his lab. She started towards the lift shaft when they arrived it was collapsing moving quickly Diana started down the shaft saying “someone damaged the ice shaft move” Diana Azi and Zao arrived at the lower levels to find the sith in combat with a creature with a long tongue and a rather nasty set of claws Zao jumped quickly into the fight and sliced the creatures tongue off Azi was attacked from above from a black Creature flat topped horns on its back and has an elongated head, sharp teeth with a tongue what has its own mouth, claws on its hands and feet, with a Tail that has a Spear like appearance. The creature just hit his back; Azi ignored the creature and helped the others fight off the other creature hitting it with a whip that choaked out the creature.

In short, the experiment proves more than anyone bargained for. Our inglorious merc team failed to save the base or the planet, including the loss of all experimental data Darc had commissioned them to recover. 3 members of the merc group dissappeared, double crossing Darc and selling his experimental secrets to the Sith.
